Barcelona have sent their officials to London to discuss a potential summer deal for Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin, according to Spanish outlet, Diario Gol.
The young defender has been linked with a return to his former club, Barca in recent seasons as the Catalan giants search for a viable replacement for Dani Alves who left the Camp Nou on a free in favour of a move to Juventus, leaving the right-back positions in the hands of Aleix Vidal and academy graduate Sergi Roberto who have been deemed not good enough in that position.
Barcelona’s technical director Robert Fernandez has also hinted of an interest in Bellerin after revealing that ‘there is something’ in place for the defender, he said: “We can do something there. It’s true. Signing [a right-back] could be now important.
“Well, Bellerin is a player who has a contract at Arsenal. He is a magnificent player, undoubtedly, but there are more right-backs [who could be interested]. Barcelona have the obligation to have many right-backs under control.”
However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is understood to be reluctant to sell one of his prized assets and might hold out for an astronomical offer from Barcelona if the player wants to leave.
